The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, Russia, is the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world, with an overall height of 103 meters. Originally built in 1883 to signify tsar's gratitude to Divine Providence for saving Russia from the doom of Napoleon's invasion, it was demolished on Stalin's orders in 1931 and rebuilt again in 2000. Apart from religious ceremonies, the cathedral provided a stage for the world premiere of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture as well as for Pussy Riot's Punk Prayer Богородица, Путина прогони (Mother of God, Chase Putin Away).
