Daily pic #41: Columbia River Gorge

The Historic Columbia River Highway is a 120 km (75 mile) scenic highway in Oregon, built through the Columbia River Gorge between 1913 and 1922. The original highway was modeled after the scenic roads of Europe, following all the natural beauty spots.
On my recent visit to Portland, I had a few hours of light in the afternoon and decided to take some pictures along the scenic route. Unfortunately, when I got to the first lookout and took just a couple of pictures, it started raining, and within minutes the gorge was completely veiled by the rain. Disappointed I had to turn back, and, as luck would have it, the rain stopped as soon as I got back to the hotel.
