Danza de la Muerte

It seems that people in Mexico start celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) a few days before the actual holiday (Nov 1-2).

The skeletons are looking at you from the windows, the stores are full of chocolate skulls and zombies walk or ride bicycles among regular people.

I had just a few hours to see Mexico City on Saturday afternoon. To maximize my visual exposure I took the double-decked sightseeing bus, called Turibus. Passing by Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) I noticed some commotion in front of the palace, which turned out to be the Dance of Death - an allegory on the universality of death.

Theme by Danetsoft and Danang Probo Sayekti inspired by Maksimer
